Animals Galore – June 12-15
Tuesday, June 12th
Everyone loves animals – so let’s see how many different kinds of animals we can find on our Animals Galore tour? Our tour this morning departs Central Wisconsin heading for Central Illinois! We will stop for an included lunch in the Rockford area and then on to LaSalle, IL. Now way back many years ago before we had semis anything that needed to be taken from one city to another was done by a Canal Boat. And where do the animals come into this picture….well the canal boats were pulled by mules or horses. In our case it will be by mules, called Larry & Mo! They will slowly pull us along the hand dug canal just like the pioneers did back in the early 1900’s! We will sit back and relax while watching the scenery go by while Matt the mule tender explains what life was like way back than!
After our ride we will also visit the LaSalle Canal Boat and Lock 16 Visitor Center to learn more about the area. As our visit comes to an end we will travel further south heading for Bloomington, IL to check in at the Quality Inn & Suites for a three night stay. On our way we will make a stop for our included dinner this evening. While in Bloomington, we will have an outdoor pool to enjoy each evening.
Wednesday, June 13th
Following our included breakfast we hop on-board our motorcoach and head west to Peoria. While visiting Peoria today we will enjoy the Luthy Botanical Gardens, the Spirit of Peoria Paddle Wheel and the Peoria Zoo! The Luthy Botanical Gardens is home to various specialty gardens and of course their Garden Gift Shop! Next it will be time for our included lunch onboard the Spirit of Peoria, what more can we ask for as we paddle our way up and down the Illinois River. From the boat to the zoo – more animals! Lion’s and tigers and bears oh my……..and even some wallabies! We will stop for our included dinner as we travel back to Bloomington once again.
Thursday, June 14th
Off we go again after our included breakfast this time heading east toward Champaign and Rantoul, IL. Our stop in Champaign will be at the William M. Staekel Planetarium for a presentation on the summer skies. O.K., so it is time for some more animals!
To the Hardy’s Flying Reindeer Ranch we go – can the reindeer really fly and did they really come from the North Pole – come along and we will find out! And there is more to Hardy’s then just reindeer – let’s enjoy a weenie roast for lunch (included), a hayride through the countryside some race carts for the brave ones and maybe even some paint ball for the extra brave ones!
I believe it will be time for a rest as we return back to Bloomington, freshen up and then out we go for our included dinner this evening. The outdoor pool will be looking really inviting tonight I am sure!
Friday, June 15th
Day four has arrived and that means it is time to pack our suit cases and load them back on to our motorcoach to begin our return trip home back to Central Wisconsin. But we have time for some more animals on the way! We will make a slight detour to end up in Delavan to visit the Dancing Horse Dinner Theatre for an included lunch, horse show, exotic bird show and a whole lot more! Did you ever see a bird on rollerblades? Come along with us as we see a whole bunch of very talented birds and animals!
As we finish up with our Animals Galore tour we will make one last stop for our included dinner this evening before returning to Central Wisconsin! And we will be checking along the way to make sure we return with the same number of people as we started with, just in case a visitor finds its way into some ones pocket! The only animals that could be coming home with you will be the Beanie Babies that you may win when we play our Beanie Baby Race on the motorcoach!
