Photo of SS Badger FerryWe depart Central Wisconsin this morning heading east, and when the land runs out we will hop on a ferry and keep going east to Michigan Fun and Hop on board & come have some fun with us.  Our direction of travel will take us east to Manitowoc at which time we will board the S.S. Badger Ferry and yes our motorcoach will go right along with us onto the ferry. Once getting settled in we will have our included lunch on the ferry as we depart for Ludington, MI. After lunch there will be time to check out the ferry itself; how about watch a movie, or play some bingo, or visit the on board museum and gift shop. Or, go out on the upper deck and enjoy the sights of Lake Michigan as we sail across to the state of Michigan!

As our ferry docks on the shores of Ludington, Michigan we will climb back into our motorcoach and drive it right out the end of the huge ferry onto land once again! We will make a stop for our included dinner on our way to Houghton Lake, MI where we will be staying at the Comfort Suites for the next three nights!

Wednesday, July 14th

After an included breakfast at our hotel our adventures in Michigan begins! Our morning visit will take us to Wellington Farm, USA in Grayling, MI. We can experience the past at the Historic Village & Working Farm. This 60-acre open-air interpretive museum consists of a Blacksmith Shop, Carpenter Shop, Farm Market, General Store and a Farmstead Kitchen and some Nature Trails. Our visit here will include a delicious lunch on the farm as well.Outside picture of Lake Houghton Comfort Suites

This afternoon get ready for some excitement as our group will chose between floating down the usable River in either canoes or inner tubes. Now don’t get worried the water is very shallow, we will be able to stand up and the water will only be to our knees. It is a very safe & relaxing float on the river and our group will have a special guide along for our reassurance. Remember the fun of trying something new! (We will also have a backup plan just in case.) Late this afternoon we return to our hotel to enjoy an included dinner at the Lakeside Bistro and the remainder of our evening will be free to enjoy the area around our hotel including a lake right outside our door or an indoor water park also at our hotel.

Thursday, July 15th

Rise and shine to another day as we begin once again with an included breakfast at our hotel before heading for Picture of Train from Mid Continent Railway MuseumHartwick Pines State Park. As we walk the paths of the State Park and learn about the many animals that make their homes in the forest and see the beauty of the area and also enjoy an included picnic lunch here in the State Park. Then it is off to the Michigan Ausable Valley Railroad. See this unbelievable train that was built by Howard Schrader. It is ¼ the size of a regular steam train and has its own set of tracks, a curving tunnel and a long wooden trestle to travel on. Howard is a lover of trains and you will certainly see why when we arrive to visit his treasure in Fairview, MI. To date he has one steam locomotive, two diesel locomotives and seven passengers cars for us to enjoy a ride in and be amazed at. Who knows he may have a new addition by the time we arrive for our visit. From trains to boats as we had back to our hotel to board the Cumberland Princess for an included evening dinner cruise on Houghton Lake.

Friday, July 16th

As we begin to say good bye to the Houghton Lake area this morning we will enjoy one last included breakfast and then take off for Fun Land Amusement Park. Bumper Boats, Go Carts, Mini Golf, a Ferris wheel, all kinds of fun things await us here. After a busy morning we will begin our trek north to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula not before stopping in Gaylord for an included lunch and a visit to the Call of the Wild. This museum features North American Wildlife; such as an 11 ft tall, 1700 lb Polar Bear. Stuffed of course! We can explore the wild and then check out their huge gift shop then on to the Elk Preserve to learn a little about the life of an Elk and see some real live ones! Then on we go to Mackinaw City where we will stop just to have some free time to check out their gift shops before eading over the 5-mile Mackinac Bridge heading for St. Ignace which is just over the bridge for our final overnight stay at the Best Western Harbour Pointe Lakefront. During our final evening together we will be treated to an included outdoor Bar B Q by the lake along with a relaxing bon fire. What a beautiful ending to our tour we shall have!

Saturday, July 17th
