We are completely and totally committed to the safety of our passengers. Our safety record is untouched by ANY of our competitors. We have the proof - just ask.
We founded our company in 1989 and started with European coaches. We have been a company of firsts and continue to offer the most highly optioned coaches in the midwestern United States - and at competitive pricing. Every vehicle in our fleet is clean and exceptionally well maintained by ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) Master Certified Technicians.
Every person who is employed by Progressive Travel is personally and professionally responsible for the outcome of our company. We take this seriously. We all have "the servant attitude," which means we understand that we are in the service industry and we are here to serve our clients appropriately. As a company, we are large enough to meet the needs of our customers and small enough to do so with the personal touch that is expected by each and every one of our passengers.
Our roots go back to 1954 when Rue Burnett purchased his first school bus. Our sister company - Burnett Transit - continues on with the legacy of quality service in the school bus industry. Progressive Travel was started in 1989 when Rue Burnett and his son, Joe (who continues as president of the company), purchased their first motor coach. We started with European motor coaches because they are well known for their quality (much like European automobiles) and their extensive list of options available. (It should be noted that there are no motor coaches manufactured in the U.S. - the only suppliers are from Europe or Canada.) We continue to operate exclusively European coaches today. The principles upon which our company is based are traditional values that many of our competitors have forgotten about. The relationship with each of our clients is based on honesty and integrity. We do not pretend to be perfect; when we make mistakes we will own them. While we have grown in size, we have not forgotten what has led to our success - having a moral compass. We will never be the "big box company" because we don't really care about volume. What we do care about is quality.
I have toured with the Wind Symphony throughout the United States 2-3 times per year during my 45-year tenure here at Concordia University Chicago. For most of those years I have used Progressive Travel. They are the best we have had... I would not even think of using any other company.
